The challenge

Children have more answers than ever. But do they know how to think about the whole problem?

Children are growing up with unprecedented access to information and artificial intelligence. They can obtain answers within seconds — but fast answers do not automatically produce good judgment.

Many children are still not systematically taught how to:

  • Distinguish symptoms from causes
  • Recognise patterns over time
  • Understand feedback and unintended consequences
  • Explore different perspectives
  • Question assumptions
  • Identify who is missing from a decision
  • Test whether a solution improves the whole system
The future challenge is not simply whether children can use AI. It is whether they can think independently enough to question, evaluate and responsibly use what AI provides.

The programme does not treat a correct multiple-choice answer as mastery. Learners progress when they can explain a concept, apply it to a new situation and revise their thinking when new evidence appears.
