Why we are called Cybee
The name joins two ideas — a network and a hive — into one friendly, memorable symbol for children.
The icon is a stylised honeycomb — the ordered, interconnected structure a hive of bees builds together.
Cy — cyber
Networks, artificial intelligence, digital technology and the connected, fast-changing world children are growing up in — a web of parts that only makes sense as a whole.
Bee — the bee
One of nature’s most organised, hard-working and interconnected living systems. Bees coordinate, communicate, adapt and create value for a whole ecosystem — a perfect, friendly metaphor for thinking in systems.
A hidden meaning in the letters
Look closely at the wordmark. The two letters “ee” in cybee are each drawn as three parallel horizontal lines — forming two Qián (乾 · ☰)trigrams from Eastern philosophy. Qián stands for creativity, continuous growth and the strength to shape a better future — a quiet reminder of what we hope to build in every child.

Why this initiative began
Cybee Learning began after founder James Nguyen studied Systems Thinking and Practice at the University of Otago. Despite more than two decades of experience designing business and technology systems, he realised that he had never previously received formal education in the field.
This raised a larger question: why can children complete many years of education without learning a structured way to understand the systems shaping their lives? Cybee Learning is the attempt to answer it — carefully, and with evidence.
